As we continue to enjoy warm days and football, who can forget fun at the Barrel Drive-In on Highway 18 West? Whether it was car-hops delivering food to your car or dining inside this was a great place to hang out and listen to the tunes from 1490 – KRIB radio broadcasting from their booth on the roof of the building. This photograph once again is from the Clear Lake Historical Society collection gives us a great view of not only the sign, but also the famous and well-loved chicken! Speaking of chicken, can you smell and taste that great Barrel chicken if you think about it? Yum! This photo was taken in the 1990s.
